The beauty of ordinary days

PLACES & BELONGING

Between places

On belonging, roots and the little ways we make a home.

There is a particular kind of in-between that comes from having lived in more than one place.

You begin to collect small pieces of everywhere: the rhythm of a street, the sound of a language, the way the light falls in a kitchen you no longer call yours. Some memories remain vivid; others soften at the edges.

For a while, it can feel as though belonging should be a single destination. But perhaps it is not. Perhaps it is something we build slowly, through ordinary days, familiar gestures and the people who make a place feel a little less unfamiliar.

Maybe home is not always a point on a map. Maybe, sometimes, it is the quiet permission to keep becoming.

IDENTITY

The many versions of home

A short note on the places we carry.

Some places stay with us long after we have left them. They live in the words we use, the food we miss, the habits we hardly notice and the memories that return without warning.

Maybe having more than one home does not make any of them less meaningful. Maybe it simply gives us more ways to understand what home can be.

A LITTLE ABOUT THIS SPACE

Not a guidebook. Not a finished story.

One Day at a Time is a personal journal about life between places, the perspectives we gather along the way, and the small discoveries that make an ordinary day feel meaningful.

It is a space to write honestly, stay curious and make room for change — without needing to have everything figured out.
